How a case works
Each case begins with a fictional patient, their presenting complaint, medical history, and social history. From there, you decide how to investigate the case through physical examination and diagnostic tests before making a diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Your choices matter. If a diagnostic test would not contribute useful information or change management in that case, the game tells you. Treatment choices also receive feedback in the context of the fictional scenario, so you can follow the reasoning behind the case rather than simply being told whether a choice is right or wrong.
Medical terms and concepts are explained throughout the game, and the Handbook provides concise information about diseases whenever you want additional context. A case is completed once the appropriate treatment decisions for that case have been made.
